First up, the Philippines looks set to get a new international airport. The new airport is being planned in Mindanao's province of Maguindanao del Norte, far from Manila, and will give travellers easier access to the country's southern islands.
Next, in news from Bulgaria, we're hearing about a new record for serviced flights. On August 6, Bulgarian air traffic controllers provided ANS to 3,715 aircraft, of which 3,451 were overflights. This puts BULATSA in 8th place in Europe in terms of air traffic workload.
From Bosnia and Herzegovina, we're hearing about advancements in tower and approach control units. Bhansa have put the CIMACT (Civil-military air traffic management coordination tool) system into operational use in Banja Luka, Mostar and Tuzla with the aim of giving air traffic controllers better situational awareness of the airspace.
And last but not least, we have another episode of our podcast Radar Contact for you. This week, we sit down with Julian Sube of Syksquitter to discuss ADS-B network and data extraction.
