ANSP news

• BigSky operational at CDG Airport - Innov'ATM - A real data exchange platform between all CDM players at Paris CDG, BigSky offers the operational supervisor a high-performance and ergonomic tool to monitor the smooth running of operations in real-time, by consolidating and merging all the data for operated flights.
• PANSA increases expansion abroad and will provide its services in Lithuania - Flight Inspection of Polish Air Navigation Services Agency has won another tender in Lithuania. The Agency’s colourful aircraft called Parrot for three years will be providing AGL & PAPI flight inspection services to the State Enterprise Lithuanian Airports. The maximum revenue from the tender could reach 128 000 EUR.

• Cloud-based ATC at Adolf Würth Airport in Germany - Since July 2020 a cloud-based air situation display system called PHOENIX WebInnovation has been used at Adolf Würth Airport to facilitate safe air traffic management. The tool runs in an on-premise cloud in the airport control tower and was developed by DFS Aviation Services GmbH in Langen, a subsidiary of DFS.

• Adacel and Fiji Airports commission a new Aurora ATM for en route and tower control - Adacel, along with Fiji Airports, commissioned the new Aurora Air Traffic Management for surveillance control in Fiji’s domestic airspace. The new Aurora ATM system integrates oceanic, approach, and tower control capabilities and includes a new simulator to train air traffic controllers in an ADS-B surveillance environment.
• Hong Kong International Airport selects Searidge for industry’s largest digital platform for tower and apron management - Searidge Technologies announced they have been selected by Airport Authority Hong Kong, to deploy a single digital tower and apron platform to support their airport transformation and large-scale expansion plans at Hong Kong International Airport.
• Remote delivery of Airways simulator for Malaysia’s new Mukah Airport - A large TotalControl tower simulator at Malaysia’s Mukah Airport has been successfully tested and installed remotely, in another example of an innovative approach to simulator delivery by Airways International Ltd during the Covid-19 pandemic.
• NAVBLUE Supports the Implementation of Performance Based Navigation in Indonesia - NAVBLUE is pleased to announce the successful completion of a Performance-based Navigation implementation initiative in Indonesia on behalf of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency.

• EUROCONTROL Data Snapshot #9 - The ninth EUROCONTROL Data Snapshot is here and our focus is on the fact that the average flight in 2020 was 7.6% shorter than 2019, but the average flight weight fluctuated from month to month quite dramatically compared with the relatively steady levels in 2019.

• Droniq “is on track to become Europe's first USSP” - Unmanned airspace - German UAS traffic management company Droniq has announced on social media “it is on track to become Europe’s first U-space service provider (USSP).”
• Spain seeks U-space platform provider to work with air navigation service provider ENAIRE to develop U-space ecosystem - Unmanned airspace - ENAIRE is integrating new agents into the U-space ecosystem under development nationally. U-space service providers will be able to offer their services to drone operators in a competitive market, aided by the Single Common Information Services Provider (CIS-P).
• IAA launches consultation on rules for drones / UAS in the Dublin area - The Irish Aviation Authority today launched a public consultation on proposed changes to the Unmanned Aircraft System geographical zone for the Dublin area, which is the busiest air traffic space in the country.
• Commission adopts new rules and conditions for safe, secure and green drone operations - The European Commission today adopted the U-space package - three regulations that together create the conditions necessary for both drones and manned aircraft to operate safely in the section of our airspace known as the U-space.
• Is Europe’s U-space regulatory concept viable? A conversation with Unifly - Unmanned airspace - The UAS traffic management industry, especially in Europe, faces a number of challenges but two are critical at the moment. The first is to understand which architectural model for UTM/U-space – federated or monolithic – is the most suitable for adoption by States and the second is to understand how UTM service providers and operators can guarantee some sort of return on their investment with the current proposed model.
• Nordic Unmanned “now licensed to fly BVLOS operations in all EASA countries” - Unmanned airspace - Nordic Unmanned reports it has received the European Light UAS Operator Certificate issued by the Norwegian Civil Aviation Authority under the EASA EU 2019/947 rules and has become one of the first European operators to receive this new certificate for several different models of Unmanned Aerial Systems.
